Short Biography

Kristina Mascher-Turner is an internationally acclaimed hornist whose career spans six continents, thirty countries, and three decades at the heart of European musical life. Former principal horn of the Brussels Philharmonic and a member of the American Horn Quartet since 2009, she brings rare depth of artistry to every stage - as orchestral musician, chamber partner, recording artist, and educator. Her playing is shaped equally by American roots and a richly European musical sensibility. Since 2025, she serves as Professor of Horn at the KASK Conservatorium in Ghent, Belgium, and continues to appear internationally as a performer, masterclass artist, and jury member. She is the recipient of the International Horn Society’s Punto Award (2022) and a faculty artist at the Rafael Méndez Brass Institute/Summit Brass in Denver. She performs on a Ricco Kühn W393X triple horn.
